What’s The Best Way? To Learn Spanish Online

Thursday, July 30th, 2009
There are many opportunities to learn Spanish online these days, and it’s a great way to get started with any language. With all of the options now available, it can be a fairly confusing task to choose which system to go with. How do you decide?

First of all, you’re going to need the answers to a couple of questions:

Why do I want to learn Spanish?

This is important because some Spanish courses are more suited to conversational Spanish, which will be useful if you’re learning Spanish for a trip you’re planning to take, or to be able to talk to Spanish speakers wherever you are. Other courses, however, are more academic, and will be useful for those wanting an online Spanish course to help them with their Spanish language studies. There are many options for each of these types of course, and the cost can vary wildly, which brings us to our next important question…

How much will it cost to learn how to speak Spanish online?

For those who are completely new to learning new languages, you may want to try a few different systems out before you decide on one that works for you. We all learn in slightly different ways, and a course that works really well for one person may not work at all for another. With this in mind, it’s a good idea to test out the free options first, and try out a paid one when you know more about which systems suit your learning style.

Many of the paid online Spanish courses have free trials. These can be a great way to get started and test out the course at the same time. Take advantage of these free trials and free courses and try before you buy.

Having said that, please don’t overload yourself by trying different courses out at the same time! This never works - you’ll simply lose focus and not get very far with any of them. This is one of the biggest mistakes that people make when trying to find a course that works for their own learning style. Try one at a time, if it’s not working for you, ditch it and move on to the next.

When you find a course that you like, stick with it. Don’t overwhelm yourself by trying to cover the whole thing in a week! (This happens a lot). Take it easy, and get into a routine that allows you to spend a little time each and every day working on your Spanish speaking - little and often is the way to approach this.

As I said above, there are a few totally free ways to learn how to speak Spanish online as well as plenty of free trials for the paid courses. There’s a neat little 12 day course, which is completely free, at Spanish Lessons For Free - I’m not sure I like the way that Pinata looks at me though!

Most people feel that the best way to learn how to speak Spanish is the go and live in a Spanish speaking country for a while (6 months or longer). It makes a lot of sense. You will be motivated to learn the language and you will be able to use what you learn. These are two of the problems of learning a new language in your native country - lack of motivation and opportunity to use (and reinforce) your new skills. However, it is not practical for many people with jobs and families to move to a Spanish speaking country so what are the alternatives. One such alternative is learn to speak Spanish software. This article will be a general learn to speak Spanish software review.

To begin with, why do people want to learn Spanish ? Well, in the United States, many people of Latin American origin are settling or migrating. Do You Want To Learn To Speaking Spanish?

Thursday, May 7th, 2009

Don’t even consider attempting to learn a foreign language unless your heart is in it - you will wasting your time. Irrespective of the fact that it might be easy to learn the language, but never take an easy-going attitude, or else you would not land anywhere. Learning to speak Spanish is probably one of the most popular course and most local colleges and universities have courses. There is no need for you to join a class with a large number of young people if you feel uncomfortable - just enrol in an adult language class. From what I know, schools offer crash courses in different languages during school break, especially during summer.

To make you able to speak Spanish, some companies also offer crash courses in the language where you could also get a job, as soon as you finish your learning. In case you do not have any time, many bookshops sell dictionaries, which can also help you learn the language. You could also avail several self-help books, which contain Spanish phrases and sentences with simultaneous English translations written at the bottom.

There is the ever so trusted Internet where you can find loads of free tutorials on Google or yahoo. Learning a language not only involves speaking and reading all by your self, though speaking Spanish is comparatively easier since it is more phonetic. But, you can listen using Internet, too and there are webcasts and podcasts available and what’s great is that some sites will allow you to download it, all you have to do is just type your fingers away!

But, it is much easier to learn if you really listen, don’t just go with the books as there are songs and movies and telenovelas you can always listen or watch. Looking at pictures is a great help, and when you learn a Spanish word, you would ever forget its meaning if you know what it looks like. If money and time permits, take off and visit the land where the language is spoken by every one. Be familiar with their habitat and culture and in no time, you would be speaking Spanish.

Do not tax your self too much while learning, as the more tensed you are the more frustrated you would get. Remember not just say the words when you are speaking Spanish but to use an accent as well - it will improve the sound. It’s a big no-no and you will just sound funny if you do that but do not be afraid of making mistakes because when you are a beginner, what do you expect? Never stop your learning process just because you made some mistakes, as this is the only way one learns, so go ahead, learn and have good fun while doing so and best of luck.

Learn Spanish CD - Audio Spanish Is The Best Way To Learn Spanish

Thursday, February 5th, 2009
by Adrian Fletcher

Spanish is one of the most diversely spoken languages in the world. It is estimated that up to 400 million people currently speak it as their first language with many more learning it. In countries like the United States it is growing in popularity as a second language.

A popular method to learn Spanish is to use an audio course. Such a course generally comes on mp3 or CD and is a convenient way to learn the language. This article will explain why an audio course is a good option.

If you are looking for a course to help you study Spanish, I would suggest that the most important part of the course is the audio component.

When it comes down to the nitty-gritty, you learn a language to talk to people. Whether this is via a business or social interaction, you use language to receive and give views on a particular topic. People like to talk.

The other aspects of learning a language, like reading and writing are important aspects of any language of course, but I would suggest they are not as important as being able to talk. This point is proved by when you learned your mother tongue. You learned to speak before the other parts of the language.

So talking is the most important skill to have. Ironically, it is also the hardest part of learning a language because you have to perfect a number of skills.

So, speaking involves pronouncing words and understanding a flurry of words spoken back at you. These are hard skills to get down, especially when you have to do it quickly to keep a conversation going.

Thus a Spanish audio course facilitates this process without putting you under the pressure of talking to a person (which brings added pressure). This can be done in whatever environment that you feel comfortable in.

For instance, listening to an audio course in the car is a potentially great use of dead time. Rather do something constructive with your time than sitting in grid lock every day.

However, it is debatable whether you can give your full concentration to the course while driving at the same time. Many courses advise against doing this but in my experience you can do it if you have listened to the CD many times and just want to touch up some of your knowledge.

An audio course will typically be a series of around 30 lessons. Each course format may vary but ultimately they all boil down to : you listen and then repeat. There will also be some instruction or explanation in between. Depending on the level of the course, it should take you from beginner through to advanced Spanish, with each lesson lasting from 20-30 minutes.

An advanced level is basically being able to ask basic questions, understand the response and possible reply to the response. These are the basic building blocks that can take you to fluency. You will not get fluent using an audio course. I think this will happen when you are comfortable and have experience with talking to native speakers.

As an aside, an important skill along with the core language skills is being confident about speaking to native Spanish speakers. Once you get this confidence your Spanish will come on in leaps and bounds. With this said, a learn Spanish audio course is a good place to start you language learning.
